Statement of Intent
My submission for Associateship focuses on several different aspects of the everyday working of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch passenger railway in East Kent. The railway, which originated in 1927 and stretches over some 14 miles, is an important local tourist attraction.
The purpose of the project was to combine my life long interest in steam trains with my enjoyment of photography. Black and white photography is, I believe, particularly suited to the subject. An objective of the project using this style is to show the emotion, atmosphere, personality and environment of the railway at their best.
It is intended that my panel will feature at two local exhibitions specifically to promote the railway and also as a feature article in the railway’s own magazine.
